Spring 2015 Update for Cape Coral
The quarterly newsletter from city hall, “On The Move”, was recently mailed to all residents and businesses in Cape Coral. The front page highlights the vision planning that continues for Bimini Basin. The University of South Florida’s School of Architecture and Community Design will be presenting an initial design plan on March 17. It will be based on the most popular idea that was presented in January.
Other highlights include:
· Watering schedule reminder. Cape Coral has a year-round watering schedule that must be adhered to in order to preserve our limited resources. More information is available on the Cape Coral website.
· Five year paving plan. In May, Cape Coral will begin paving local roads in northwest Cape and southeast Cape. Once the Fire Service Assessment is approved, dollars will be freed up to continue resurfacing the major city roads. A map of the five year paving plan is in the paper but a larger view is available online.
· Services provided from tax dollars. A lengthy list of services, plus comparisons to other cities, is shown on pages 6 and 7. Cape Coral provides an excellent value and is more affordable than many other cities.
· Hazardous waste collection day is scheduled. Residents will be able to drop off household chemical waste on March 21 at the Public Works Annex on Everest Parkway from 8 am – 2 pm.
