You might drive right past this restaurant if you weren’t looking for it. The Duke of Germany is at the end of a strip shopping center (Chiquita Plaza) at 3816 Chiquita Boulevard South. It has been open since 2010 and is family owned and operated. The food and atmosphere is definitely authentic.

The menu items include schnitzel, bratwurst, goulash, soup, sandwiches, etc, etc, not to mention dessert. They also serve beer and wine. You can find specials, coupons, and more on their website. Besides a full menu for lunch and dinner, they also make and sell their own sausage.

You should stop in the Duke of Germany the next time you’re in the southwest cape. You’ll receive a hearty meal and top-notch, friendly service.

The southeastern tip of Cape Coral is known as the Yacht Club. It was the first area of the city to be developed back in the late 1950’s. Things to do in Cape Coral-Historical Museum

If you want to find out the nitty gritty details of the development of Cape Coral and see some cool relics, make a stop at the Cape Coral Historical Museum located at 544 Cultural Park Boulevard, next to the Cultural Park Theatre.

As you enter the main building, which was once the clubhouse at the Cape Coral Country Club, you’ll be asked to sign in and pay admission of $5 for adults (children & students are free). This is where the tour begins and ends. You’ll also be guided through two other buildings that are jammed pack full of data and memorabilia. These three buildings make up the Cape Coral Historical Museum. A kind volunteer will take you through the buildings, give you lots of information, and answer your questions. You’ll be able to make a purchase or donation at the gift shop on your way out. 

In addition to everything you’ll find inside, there is also a wonderful rose garden to enjoy.

Days and hours of operation are: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11-4 pm & Saturday from 10-2 pm.

Things to do in Cape Coral-Dante’s Pizza

Pine Island Road connects Pine Island to Cape Coral and North Fort Myers. It is a commercial road with more shops and restaurants than you can imagine. In addition to Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s, and The Olive Garden, you’ll find Dante’s Coal Fired Pizza located at 900 SW Pine Island Road, at the opposite end of Bonefish Grill.

The inviting interior of the restaurant includes stacked stone ovens in full view of the patrons and a large bar which serves craft beer, wine, and liquor. The menu items include much more than their famous signature pizzas; you’ll also be able to order wings, salads, antipasto, and sandwiches, not to mention dessert. You can find current coupons on their website by clicking on the tab marked Specials.

Don’t be discouraged if when you arrive there isn’t a table available. It is worth the wait! You can always order online and pick-up, too.

Things To Do in Cape Coral-Camelot Park

Camelot Park is located at 1718 SW 52^nd Terrace, just off of South Chiquita Boulevard. The park consists of 6.4 acres within a quiet neighborhood. The park features a playground with lots of equipment to keep the kid’s busy, picnic tables, grass area for free play, walking trail, and 2 tennis courts.  The courts are lined for pickleball, too. Grills and restrooms are also available. There is even a resident Burrowing Owl, or at least there’s a nest on the grounds. Two shelters may be reserved. Leashed dogs are welcome at the park.

Camelot Park is almost hidden in the southwest corner of The Cape and just up the street from Cape Harbour. Single-family homes, on and off canals, encircle the park. Several condos are also nearby.

Things To Do in Cape Coral-Four Freedoms Park

Four Freedoms Park is located at 4818 Tarpon Court, just off of Cape Coral Parkway. The park consists of 3 acres along the picturesque Bimini Basin. It was the first park in the city.

The park features a fenced-in playground with plenty of shade and picnic tables, a sunbathing only beach, grass area for free play, and a recreational facility that offers a variety of programs. A concrete walkway along the bank turns down a canal and has room for small craft to tie-up and fishing. A shelter inside the playground may be reserved. Dogs are welcome at the park but not inside the playground area. 

Low-rise condos line Bimini Basin and Sunset Towers soar from across the park. A few homes on Avalon Drive also get to share in the delight of the basin. Residents in this area can enjoy the view of anchored sailboats and a variety of rear sun exposure.  

The park’s name came from the four freedoms spelled out by President Franklin Roosevelt in his message to Congress in 1941. They are displayed on a plaque at the park: Freedom of Speech and Expression, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear.

If you need a break and want to relax with a beautiful view then you should stop at Four Freedoms Park today.

Jaycee Park is located at the eastern end of Beach Parkway at 4215 SE 20^th Place, just north of Cape Coral Parkway. The park consists of 8 acres right along the bank of the Caloosahatchee River. The park features a walking trail, picnic tables, two age appropriate playgrounds, exercise station, pet waste pick-up stations, grills, and big grassy areas for free play. A gazebo and 2 shelters may be reserved for special events.

A unique feature of Jaycee Park is the individual parking spots that face the river. You can pull into one of those and gaze at the passing boats and wildlife. 

The residents in the condos along Beach Parkway, SE 20^th Place, and the other nearby streets are able to walk or bike over and enjoy the beautiful park. Others visiting from around town will find plenty of parking spots.

As you make your way around Cape Coral, Jaycee Park is one stop you should definitely make.

Things to do in Cape Coral-Tiki Hut

Touted as the largest Tiki Hut in the world, the Tiki Hut Bar and Grill is located alongside the pool at Dolphin Key Resort, 1502 Miramar St, Cape Coral. This could easily be your first stop in Cape Coral as it is just over the Cape Coral Bridge and steps from the Caloosahatchee River. The atmosphere alone will definitely relax you.

The open air restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and seasonally for breakfast. The menu items include nachos, burgers, wings, chicken fingers, chili, calamari, shrimp, and much more. The decorated ceiling includes license plates from across the country and many nautical items. There are multiple TV’s and plenty of tables and bar space. The long bar is fully stocked and includes craft beer. Live music is featured on the weekends. Parking is limited next to the bar but additional space has been added on the other side of Miramar St.

This is a great place to wind down with friends or make some new ones.
